Frequently asked questions
I want to have cosmetic injections, do I need a consultation?
Yes, the consultation process is the most important part of your treatment. This helps the practitioner familiarise themselves with each client, identify their requirements and tailor a treatment plan that fits their goals and expectations.
Can anti-wrinkle or filler injections be used during pregnancy or breast feeding?
NO. Injections are NOT recommended in pregnant or breastfeeding women. Unfortunately, there is not enough evidence to support the effects on the unborn child or breastfeeding mother. We will not perform treatment during pregnancy and advise to return for treatment once breastfeeding has ceased.
Will I look younger after treatment?
A number of factors determine the outcome of treatment. Your genetic make-up, cumulative exposure to UV light, skin care regime, skin integrity, overall health status. For younger clients, regular treatments will almost stop the clock and can slow the ageing process. For mature clients, treatments aim to refresh the face and soften signs of ageing.
Will I look worse if i stop anti-wrinkle treatment?
No you won’t look worse, although wrinkles and fine lines will eventually return with muscle movement.
Will I look worse if I stop dermal filler treatment?
No. Hyaluronic acid can stimulate your own natural collagen production. Dermal Fillers do not stretch your face, they can improve skin texture and elasticity by thickening the skin and supporting the tissue underneath. Wrinkles, lines and facial hollows will eventually return to your face if you stop treatment, but your face will age with the benefit of earlier treatment.
Will I still look like me after dermal filler treatment?
When it comes to cosmetic injectables, sometimes less is more. Too much filler, too frequent or too much focus on one particular area can give you an obvious and unnatural appearance. Our practitioner will tailor a treatment plan just for you to optimise your facial balance and enhance your features without you looking ‘over done’.
What will my lips feel like after lip filler?
For the first 2-3 days, it is normal for them to feel very firm. This is due to a combination of the filler and swelling. They will gradually soften over the next two weeks.
Should I massage my lips post treatment?
It is extremely important to follow your injectors recommendations. If you are unsure when you get home, phone your treating clinic to get clarification.
