What is a Mint Mono PDO Thread?
PDO threads are bioresorbable threads of Polydioxanone (PDO), this thread is composed of the same material typically used for internal stitching in surgeries.
They are non-surgically implanted beneath the skin. This procedure is a safe and effective treatment for all skin types to support and preserve the skins structure delaying the process of premature aging!
PDO threads is Australian TGA approved and backed by clinical studies for its efficacy and safety.
- Minimally invasive non-surgical thread procedure
- Absorbable PDO (Polydioxanone) suture thread
- Smooth thread non-barbed
- Safe, fast & easy
How Do They Work?
PDO threads are not designed to "lift" or treat severe sagging of the skin but purely designed to create structure and support to skin tissues by stimulating collagen production improving skin texture, skin integrity, firmness, skin tightening and reduce the appearance of fine lines!
Insertion of multiple threads provides an immediate visible tightening effect. The Mono threads produce an increase in collagen around the thread as it is broken down creating a matrix of collagen. Although the effects are not immediate, maximum tension is reached between 2-3 months. Effective in both facial and body treatments.
Embedded threads gradually reabsorb over a period of 3-4 months. Results are long lasting rejuvenation of the skin and tissues which delays the natural aging process by at least 9-12 months.
What can I expect when having PDO thread treatment?
Your practitioner will apply a topical numbing cream prior to treatment to minimise discomfort.
The treatment will take about 30-60 minutes, however this is dependent on the number of threads used and treatment area to be covered.
Bruising, swelling and small lumps can occur which are normal reactions after PDO thread treatment. This should alleviate within 2 weeks.
** Please advise your practitioner if you are taking blood thinning medications, such as Aspirin, Warfarin, Clopidogrel etc.
